Rivers United ranked best football club in Nigeria

Rivers United has been ranked as the best team in the Nigeria Professional Football League, according to statistics website Opta.

The statistics and analytics medium released the club rankings for the entire continent.

The clubs were ranked by Opta using the “Elo algorithm,” which was used to analyze match results from more than 2,500,000 games.

However, the 30th-ranked team on the continent is Rivers United.

Enyimba, the defending NPFL champions, are ranked 62nd and are the second-best Nigerian team.

Akwa United is 82nd, Plateau United is 101st, and Bendel Insurance is 199th.

Leading the rankings on the continents are South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroccan sides Wydad Casablanca and FAR Rabat.
